Kathleen Hollingsworth steeped simultaneously in choral music, jazz, music education and house music, dance culture, and Burning Man, Kathleen brings a fresh sound to House music. In 1990, she moved from rural New Hampshire to San Francisco and found a home in the 90’s rave culture, molding a longtime love affair for dance music. Her terminal degrees in choral music, piano, conducting, performance combined with a love for house music give her the ability to write and arrange in many styles with an emphasis on vocal harmonies.  She writes and arranges original music for her band, Mad Love, is a tenured professor at Clackamas Community College in Oregon, a published arranger with Anchor Music Publications, writing for vocal jazz ensembles. She is also a Downbeat Award and a Hal Leonard Scholarship Award recipient and is the Founder and Director of the Playa Choir, now in it’s 21st year at Burning Man. 

Kathleen has collaborated with musical giants such as John Medeski, Fareed Haque, Bono, Sweet Honey In The Rock, The Glide Ensemble and is currently a professional singer for Oregon Catholic Press, Resonance Ensemble, Cappella Romana and recently, the Oregon Bach Festival Chorus. 

She is a veteran mountain biker, skier/boarder and lives to create life as a work of art.
